Motorways, public roads and some segments of Hungarian highways may be used only after the payment of a toll for road use, that is e-vignette purchasing. The phrase “payment of road use toll” refers to the purchase of road use right by means of an electronic service.

Hungary vignettes – is the new website and the only one authorised to provide information on taxes to use the Hungarian road network.
1-day: Valid only for the calendar day mentioned by the buyer (until the midnight of the mentioned day), only for vehicles in D2, D3 and D4 categories.
4-day: Valid from the mentioned day and the following three days (in all four consecutive calendar days), only for vehicles in D1 category.
Weekly: Valid from the day indicated by the buyer and the following consecutive 9 days (10 consecutive calendar days in all).
Monthly: Valid from the day indicated by the buyer until the midnight of the same day in the following month. If there is no such date, that would be until the midnight of the last day in the month (for instance starting date: 15th March – valid until 24:00 hrs of 15th April; starting date: 30th January – valid until 24:00 hrs of 28th February).
Annually: Valid from 1st January 2009 until 31st January 2010 (13 months in all). In the case of purchase made within the validity period, the starting date of validity shall be the purchasing date.
Please buy the road use permit on time, before entering toll road segments! Driving on a toll road before receiving the confirmation message is considered an unauthorised road use.
